Performance and use

STD TMEHSB40 is a biodegradable betaine-type viscoelastic surfactant that can be used in daily chemicals and oilfield additives.

The critical micelle concentration (cmc) of STD TMEHSB40 at room temperature is 1.6×10~(-4)mol/L. When the concentration increases to a certain concentration, the micelle structure will change, gradually changing from spherical to rod-shaped, and the solution can form a viscoelastic structure with a three-dimensional network structure.

STD TMEHSB40 has the ability to significantly reduce the interfacial tension of oil and water. When the surfactant concentration ranges from 0.06wt% to 0.15wt%, the mineralization is less than 10000mg/L, and the temperature is below 80℃, the interfacial tension can reach 10~(-2)mN/m, or even 10~(-3)mN/m.

STD TMEHSB40 has a good emulsification effect on crude oil. The emulsion formed when the concentration of this product is 0.06wt% can remain stable for more than 24h, and the formation adsorption loss is less than 1mg/g, which can meet the use requirements.

The results of the indoor oil flooding test of STD TMEHSB40 show that surfactant flooding after water segment plugging can increase the crude oil recovery rate by more than 10%.

The concentration range of STD TMEHSB40 is 2wt%~4wt%, and it has good compatibility with various additives.

When the shear rate of STD TMEHSB40 is 170s~(-1), the viscosity of the system is still higher than 40mPa·s at 70℃; at 80℃, after 2h of shearing, its viscosity is still higher than 25mPa·s. This system has good shear resistance.

The sand carrying performance test of STD TMEHSB40 shows that the system can achieve good sand carrying effect when the sand ratio is 30% or even 40%.

The gel breaking performance test of STD TMEHSB40 shows that the system can be broken in the presence of formation water or crude oil, and there is no residue after the system is broken.
