CAS No. :95-93-2

Homotetramethylene, or 1.2.4.5-tetramethylbenzene, is an organic compound. The raw material is C10 heavy aromatic hydrocarbons, made by distillation, enrichment, crystallization and separation.

It is one of the three isomers of tetramethylbenzene, the remaining two being 1.2.3.4-tetramethylbenzene and 1.2.3.5-tetramethylbenzene. The high melting point of homotetramethylene (79.2°C) reflects the high degree of symmetry of its molecule.

The purity of our homotetramethylbenzene is 95%, 96% and 97% respectively, and the appearance is white crystal.

Application

In industry, it is the precursor of homophthalic dianhydride, which is used in the manufacture of curing agents, adhesives and paints. It is used as a raw material for the manufacture of some engineering plastics (polyimide) and as a cross-linking agent for alkyd resins. It is also a suitable raw material for synthesizing hexamethylbenzene.
