Nature

The main component was triglyceride of fatty acid. The fatty acid component (%): myristic acid 2~8, palmitic acid 24~37, stearic acid 14~29, oleic acid 40~50, linoleic acid 1~5. White or yellowish waxy solid with a special odor of beef tallow. Insoluble in water, soluble in chloroform, carbon disulfide.
