Polyester Polyol MT-670 BA

Introduction

Slightly branched hydroxyl-bearing polyester.As a co-reactant primarily with MT- N 75 and ultra N 3390 in the formulation of weather-stable flexible coatings.

Applications

Combined with MT- N 75 or ultra N 3390. MT-670 BA yields films with very good weather stability and excellent low temperature flexibility. Such coatings are mainly used to coat plastics and are force-dried, e.g. at 80 °C. MT-670 BA can also be added to other two-component polyurethane systems to improve their flexibility.

Solubility / thinnability

MT-670 BA is soluble in ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, 1-methoxypropylacetate-2. methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, toluene and mixtures of all these solvents. However, the solutions formed must be tested for their storage stability. Solutions in xylene with a solids content of less than 40 % may separate. Only PU grade solvents should be used (< 0.05 % water, free from other reactive impurities).

Compatibility

Generally speaking, MT-670 BA is miscible with many polyester MT-grades and various vinyl copolymers. However, the combinations must be tested for their compatibility. MT-670 BA has only limited compatibility with acrylate MT-grades and with cellulose acetobutyrate.

Storage

– Storage in original sealed MT container.

– Recommended storage temperature: max. 30 °C.

– Protect from moisture, heat and foreign material.

General information: Under certain conditions (temperatures below 15 °C, long storage) the product may become cloudy. It can be completely rehomogenized by heating to around 40 °C or adding solvent, and can be further processed without any loss of quality.
