IntroductionM-Toluidine is a colorless liquid that turns yellow or reddish brown in air or under the action of light. The relative density of 0.989, the melting point of -43.6 deg C, boiling point of 203~204 deg C. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether. It can be volatilized with water vapor and prepared from M-nitrotoluene by reduction reaction. M-Toluidine is mainly used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate.
Applicationmethylaniline is one of the simplest aromatic amines and is also a widely used intermediate in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical and Other Organic synthesis intermediates. At present, the domestic production mainly uses nitrotoluene as raw material, ethanol or methanol as solvent, and Ni as catalyst to prepare methyl aniline by hydrogenation reaction.
preparationadd weighed M-nitrotoluene and nano-catalyst to the autoclave, replace the reactor with nitrogen for 3 times (replacement pressure 0.3MPa), start the stirring; Open the hydrogen cylinder pressure reducing valve and pressure regulating valve, control the hydrogen pressure, and fill the high-pressure reactor with an appropriate amount of hydrogen, and heat up to the temperature in the kettle to the set temperature; Continue to stir and supply hydrogen to the kettle, and remove the reaction heat from the reactor to the cooling water to maintain the stability of the reaction temperature; Until the reactor pressure starts to rise, stop feeding hydrogen and cooling water, continue stirring and heating to maintain the reaction temperature for 0.5h; Stop stirring, separate the catalyst and reaction solution, and remove 30% (mass) of the reaction solution under appropriate conditions, weighing, 3-methylaniline was obtained and the main content was analyzed. It is feasible to prepare 3-methylaniline by using methyl aniline as solvent and catalytic hydrogenation of nitrotoluene with nano catalyst. The catalyst and solvent can be recycled, and the process is safe, environment-friendly, low cost and low energy consumption. The optimal process indexes were as follows: the ratio of nitrotoluene to methylaniline was 4 ∶ 10 (mass ratio), the amount of nano catalyst was 10% of the amount of nitrotoluene, and the reaction temperature was 100~120 ℃, h2 pressure 1.20~1.40 MPa, stirring rate 1500r/min. Under these conditions, the conversion of nitrotoluene was over 88.5%, and the selectivity to methylaniline was 100%.
synthesis methodThe hydrogenation reaction of M-nitrotoluene to produce m-toluidine was catalyzed by nickel as a catalyst in an industrial methanol solvent. Through single factor and orthogonal experiments, taking 80g m-nitrotoluene as the calculation standard, under the fixed condition of industrial methanol solvent of 200mL, the optimum reaction conditions were obtained: The catalyst was 2.0g, the reaction time was 6h, the reaction temperature was 90 ℃, and the reaction pressure was 1.6MPa. Under these conditions, the content of M-toluidine was 99.79%, the content of light component was 0.11%, and the content of recombinant component was 0.10%.
